Hello, my adoring public, and welcome to the first installment of what may be the most talked about event on the internet for years. In the following photo-biopic, I will describe my exciting and utterly boring but completely exciting life at the University of Wisconsin (or UW, as the natives know it).
Note: the images in this entry do not depict reality; but are rather the result of google image search.
My apartment looks something like this; except the kitchen is like turned one way or something and also, there is no dining room. But, more or less like this. The bedroom is taken up almost entirely by Thara's and my bed (a queen) but has built-in closet space not unlike a dorm. The living room has two chairs bought at target, one of which is broken. Luckily, I do not need to sit in two chairs. The living room also has a piano, which I sometimes make noises with. I then wonder if my fellow apartment-renterz are bothered by this cacophony; but then I realize that I do not care.
A great boon to my apartment is its proximity to the "badger house" which is apparently some sort of frat. These gentlemen have proven to be the finest of neighbors, screaming incoherently until 3 in the morning and blasting ABBA at 10. I have not seen any of these fine young men, but I imagine they look something like this:
The building is also blessed with a parking garage, which will be useful when Thara moves in, bringing with her a motor vehicle. The garage looks something like that part in resident evil 4 when you fight a bunch of Novistadors (insect monsters, for those of you not cool enough to immediately recognize RE:4 enemies by the Spanish name) but there are fluorescent lights that hum, as well.
The picture is from Silent Hill, but you get the idea. Dark, damp, humming, water, hole here, gone now, etc, etc.
Most of my free time is spent doing two things: a. watching speed-runs in the computer lab (don't have my own computer yet, although I do have internet which I can stream directly into my headbrains at 10 million gigabiggles a second) b. playing resident evil 4 using only the handgun and grenades, which is harder than it sounds, or c. playing atelier iris 3: grand phantasm generic JRPG number 1123901239 with item creation system.
I LUV ANIME GUYS
The classes I hope to take this semester are as follows:
1. German 101 for Graduate Students - meets every day, which is annoying.
2. Orchestration - how many versions of the Zelda theme will I have written before the semester ends?
3. Introduction to Research - the only requirement for the Theory masters; will be silly.
The rest of my time will be spent working at some generic office assistant job, and probably playing magic at the local store.
NEXT TIME, ON CHRIS'S EXCITING BUT KIND OF BORING LIFE AT WISC:
Will Chris be playing Persona 3 or the likely inferior Wild Arms 5?
Will a crippling heroin addiction threaten Chris' plans for world domination?
Just how many salad spinners can be put on ONE wedding registry?
TUNE IN, SAME BAT TIME, SAME BAT CHANNEL!!
